Anna Frank
La piccola Anna Frank è morta il 31 marzo 1945, solo tre settimane prima che il campo di concentramento in cui era prigioniera venisse liberato. Ad Anna Frank, adolescente ebrea tedesca costretta a fuggire ad Amsterdam a causa dei rastrellamenti nazisti, sono stati negati tutti i diritti umani: dall’identità nazionale (nel 1941 le è stata revocata la cittadinanza tedesca), al diritto di nutrirsi, alla libertà, fino alla privazione del diritto più sacro di tutti, il diritto alla vita. La sua freschezza e l’entusiasmo nei confronti del mondo sono costantemente ravvisabili nel celeberrimo diario scritto negli anni in cui è stata costretta a nascondersi insieme alla famiglia per evitare l’arresto da parte della polizia tedesca. La maturità e la potenza emozionale di alcuni passaggi del suo diario delineano chiaramente il delicato passaggio dall’età infantile a quella adulta di Anna, che voleva diventare una giornalista, che s’interrogava su temi molto moderni per l’epoca, come la subordinazione femminile e la necessità della loro emancipazione come strumento di evoluzione sociale.
Anna Frank died as a teenager on March 31st 1945, just three weeks before the other prisoners in the internment camp where she was kept were released. She grew up in Germany, but then she was forced to run away and reach Amsterdam due to Nazi persecution. As an adoloscent, she saw herself deprived of any human rights, such as citizenship right (in 1941 her German citizenship was repealed), right to food, freedom, and also the most important one, the right to live. Her candor and enthusiam for life can be traced in the words of her famous Diary, which was written while she was hiding from the Nazi-German police with her family. Reading some passages, characterized by maturity and stirring passion, it could be traced Anna’s fragile transition from childhood to adult life, her willingness to become a journalist, her thoughts and pioneering concern about modern issues, such as female subordination and the need of women’s liberation for future social development.
